Menter Môn - Anglesey, North Wales

Judy currently provides strategic consultancy and leadership to a £4M European Social Fund project called “Shaping the Future”. The project is a unique programme placing human potential at the heart of economic development. Our main function is to re-skill the employees of the Wylfa and Trawsfynydd nuclear power stations – soon to be decommissioned, seeing North West Wales lose two large employers and key components of the regional infrastructure.

The project’s accountable body for the Project and sponsor is an organisation called Menter Môn.

Menter Môn, is a non-profit distributing company, which operates extensively in the North West Wales region delivering a range of EU economic development projects and a variety of enterprise contractors on behalf of public sector commissioners.

Magnox Ltd (Internal Consultancy / Change Agent) April 2006 to March 2011

Wylfa Power Station

Between 2006 - 2010 Judy worked at Wylfa, an operational nuclear power station, with a roving strategic HR brief to support the Site Lead Team in the transition from nuclear generation to decommissioning.  Her work was motivated by the perceived socio-economic resourcing needs, as well as the new skills required for the development and regeneration of North Wales.

Magnox Ltd is owned and operated by EnergySolutions on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.  Wylfa Site is an operational power station on a 20.79 hectare site on the north coast of Anglesey. The site has two Magnox design nuclear reactors and four turbine generators.

Magnox Ltd (External Consultancy Oct 2005 / Mar 2006)

Wylfa Power Station

Judy was lead consultant for a work stream to deliver 22 ‘turn a round’ projects in six months. This work stream was needed as a result of new contractual obligations the Nuclear Decommissioning Agency placed on the UK’s nuclear assets. There was an urgent need for full commercial and contractual compliance and functionality. She managed with a team of 4 independent specialist consultants, in order to bring greater commercial accountability and integration of commercial activity within the £100m annual budget at the power station. Eighteen out of the 22 projects were considered fully effective and transferred into routine operations at the close of the project.
